Apple TV 4K – Review

Apple TV 4K is quite an expensive streaming device that provides you with a wide range of content, Dolby sound, and high-quality 4K/HDR screen resolution. Well, the Apple TV was launched in 2007 for the first time, since then the company has evolved it a lot. In this article, we will have a detailed overview of Apple TV 4K and try to find out whether it’s a worth buying product or not. So without wasting much more time, let’s get started.

But before we move to the main topic I would like to inform you that the company is selling two variants of Apple TV 4K; one is with 32GB of storage and the other is with 64GB of storage. You can get the 32GB variant for $179 and the 64GB option for $199. Well, both the devices offer you the same functionality and experience, the only difference they have in storage.

Design

Well, it’s basically a black box packed with a bunch of hardware. It looks very classy. The device has the company’s logo on the top of it that looks very classy too. Besides that, it includes an HDMI port that helps you connect your set to the Apple 4K TV. You also get a remote to control it. The manuals are very straightforward and you won’t face any problem in using this steaming device.

Performance

The device offers you high-end picture and sound quality for supported content. It lets you access a bunch of online streaming services, you just need an Apple iTunes account for it. In addition to it, the Apple TV 4K offers you Dolby Vision video, Dolby Atmos Sound, and of course the access to the Apple Store and Apple Arcade service.

You also get Siri voice assistant support with this streaming box that works remarkably well. You can ask anything Siri by tapping the mic button on the remote. It also allows you to send audio to Apple AirPods and connect to multiple HomePods. Additionally, it has access to so many apps and games that no other streaming device simply can run.

Downsides

Well, this streaming box only features a single HDMI port, and the remote of the device is a bit fussy so you might not like that. You don’t get a traditional pad for navigation menus but a trackpad for gestures, well the control is very fine-tuned, but still, it’s your personal choice whether you like a traditional directional pad or trackpad for gestures. Otherwise, it’s a great streaming box.

Conclusion

As I already mentioned it’s a bit costlier device compared to its competitors. You can get the Amazon Fire TV Cube at half of the price of Apple TV 4K, you get almost the same features on Amazon Fire TV Cube that Apply TV 4K provides you with. However, if you prefer Apple products and a big fan of the company, then you can go for it. Otherwise, you can go for the Nvidia Shield TV, Android TV box, or any other streaming stick. Because other streaming devices with the same features that Apple TV 4K offers you are available half of its price. In fact, some of them are available at one-fourth of the price of Apple TV 4K.

Another thing is the Apple TV 4K was released in 2017, so it’s a bit older compared to other latest streaming sticks. However, it features powerful hardware and Apple’s tvOS software which are the assurance that you can even use this streaming box even after four years and it won’t feel too old too.

Well if you want to access and enjoy Apple’s exclusive apps and games, then you can go for this streaming stick. Otherwise, I would suggest you look for other affordable options. That’s it for this article, I hope the information given above will be helpful to you. Thank you!
